CEAD UPDATE: A STRATEGIC NEXT STEP IN 3D PRINTING FOR MARITIME

Over the past year, CEAD has successfully developed large-format 3D printing of complete boat hulls for demanding maritime applications such as workboats and USVs through its Maritime Application Center (MAC).

Key achievements include:

  • Collaboration with 10+ customers
  • Nearly 20 boats shipped
  • Proven durability of HDPro materials in real maritime environments
  • Development of application-specific materials, software, and machinery
Installation of the first dedicated boat-printing systems worldwide

These results confirm that 3D printing is a viable industrial production method for boat hulls.

As CEAD continues to scale this technology, we have decided to discontinue the MAC as an operational service activity. This decision reflects our core positioning as a technology supplier and machine builder. We do not compete with our customers—instead, we enable them.

Our focus remains on:

  • Supporting customers who want to internalize large-scale 3D printing
  • Delivering Application-Ready Solutions such as the recently launched Faber Navalis Solution
  • Continuing development in Maritime, with another solution launching at MILAM (3–5 February)

We would like to sincerely thank Charlene and Maarten for their outstanding contributions in building momentum for 3D printed boats. We fully support their next venture and are excited to see the ecosystem continue to grow.

CEAD remains committed to enabling automation, scalability, and innovation in Maritime manufacturing—together with our customers and partners.
