Feature of the Day: Heat. Under Control.
In metal additive manufacturing, success isn’t just about generating the right tool path. It’s about mastering the process, and that begins with heat management.
A trajectory can be geometrically perfect and still produce a defective part if thermal behaviour isn’t properly controlled.
Excessive heat leads to distortion, cracking, residual stresses and poor metallurgical properties. The tool path may be correct, but the part ends up as scrap.
That’s why AdaOne goes beyond trajectory generation.
Before manufacturing begins, AdaOne simulates the thermal history of the build, allowing users to compare different manufacturing strategies and identify the one that delivers the most homogeneous thermal behaviour.
Unlike many approaches, the simulation also takes the substrate into account, which is particularly valuable for repair applications where the thermal mass of the existing part has a major influence on the process.
Once the strategy has been selected, AdaOne can automatically introduce cooling pauses between layers based on a few simple process parameters.
The result is a more stable process, improved part quality and greater confidence before the first bead is even deposited.
And there’s more to come. Automatic calibration of the thermal model through AdaPack will soon be available, making thermal simulation even more representative of your real manufacturing conditions.
No additional modules. No hidden options. No extra cost.
Because in additive manufacturing, generating a trajectory is only the starting point. Controlling the process is what makes the difference.
