
Introducing AdaOne’s Sweep slicing strategy.
Sweep is a path planning strategy which allows to interpolate tool paths across the surface of a part, from a user defined start and end surface, edge, or vertex. This is a powerful way to generate tool paths for complex substrates with difficult overhangs since the paths follow the shape of the part. The generated tool orientation is tangent to the part surface.
Sweep can be used for both meshes and BRep geometries. However, results will generally benefit from using a BRep geometry since the tool paths will be generated directly on the surface of the part. For meshes, the tool paths will be generated on a triangulated surface which may lead to a less smooth tool path.
